在自然的背景下，牛根生从事乳业27年。2004年底，他捐出全部个人股份设立“老牛专项基金”，成为“中国捐股第一人”、“全球华人捶股第一人”。牛根生于1999年创办蒙牛乳业，在“一无工厂，二无奶源，三无市场”的困境下开拓进取，使现在的蒙牛“一有全球样板工厂，二有国际示范牧场，三有液态奶销量全国第一”。目前，蒙牛已在全国14个省级行政区建起20多座生产基地。产品覆盖全国除省外的所有地区。开发的产品有液态奶、冰淇淋、奶品等三大系列100多个品种。

“蒙牛速度”在中国企业界引人注目。CCTV2003“中国经济年度人物”对牛根生的颁奖辞写道：“他是一头牛，却跑出了火箭的速度！”

Montakeer, a Chinese entrepreneur and philanthropist, has made a significant impact in the dairy industry. In 2004, he established the "Old Cow Special Fund" by donating his entire personal stake, earning him the title of "China's first person to donate shares" and "the world's first Chinese person to donate shares."

From humble beginnings as a cowherd at Hohhot Big River Milk Factory in 1978 to becoming chairman and CEO of Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group (formerly Hohhot Huimin Dairy Products Co., Ltd.) in 1983, then serving as production and operation deputy general manager from 1992 to 1998 before being dismissed, Montakeer went on to found Inner Mongolia Mengniu Dairy (Group) Co., Ltd. in 1999.

His achievements have earned him numerous awards including "China's Top Ten Entrepreneurs with Windy Clouds," "The Most Valuable Person on the Cover of China's Economic Magazine," "A Leader in China's Private Industrial Sector," and CCTV's "Economic Personality of the Year." He was also awarded for creating multiple national records such as becoming China's largest dairy enterprise with international demonstration farms.

Montakeer is known for his philanthropic efforts too. In addition to establishing the Old Cow Foundation with an initial investment of over RMB300 million from his own stock market gains since 2003, he aims to create an endowment fund that will support education initiatives.

In an interview with First Financial Daily newspaper published on December 18th last year, Montakeer shared his thoughts about establishing the foundation saying: “I want my money spent so people listen to me; I want it spent so they do bad things but still listen.” He expressed that setting up this foundation is one way he can ensure long-term health development for Mengniu while also attracting high-quality talent who would otherwise not be interested due to lack of incentives.

Despite having become rich through his business ventures like many entrepreneurs before him did not see wealth creation solely as their life goal. Instead they had always looked beyond financial success striving towards making lasting positive impacts within society which reflects well on them especially when compared against other successful individuals who have come into power through questionable means or strategies used during times when greed was rampant among some sectors or industries across different regions around Asia where economies were rapidly growing following decades-long periods under authoritarian rule prior
